Tamarind Rasam – A Delicious south Indian Dish

Tamarind usually called as Imli which is sour(Sweet+Hot) in taste can be used in making a dish which can be served with rice. This is one of the gravey which people in South India prefer to have during their supper. I am a chaotic and today i am going to share the preparation of this recipe with you.

Preparation Time:

The preparation for this rasam which take around 15-20 minutes and must be served hot.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp flour of bajra
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tsp red chilles
  • 1/2 tsp water of imli
  • coriander leaves(Dhaniya)
  • 2 tsp oil
  • Salt

Procedure:

How to Make Imli Water?

Firstly take a bowl and wash the tamarind with fresh water. Now take the drinking water and boil it on the stove. Further, add the washed tamarind into it and leave it for some time. Now use your hand to mix them and collect the Tamarind water in a separate bowl.

How to Make Tamarind Rasam?

Preparation of the Tamarind Rasam is a simple process. You can follow the below-mentioned steps to prepare this recipe.

Step 1: Take a Bowl add flour of Bajra. Now add water, red chillies, Salt, turmeric in it and mix them properly.

Step 2: Take a vessel and add oil in it. Now on the stove and hot the oil. Once you feel the oil is hot, add the bajra mixture in it and cook it for 4-5 minutes,

Step 3: Once you think the dish is cooked, add the tamarind water and cook it until the water comes to the top which indicates the dish is ready to serve. Now switch off the stove and pour the liquid in a separate bowl.

Serving:
The Dish is ready for serving, and it is to be served with a plate of rice.
